From the original hand-painted tiles on the fireplace in the Green Room at Kelmscott Manor

There were a number of distinct variations to the Swan tile over it's years of production. It was used in the Fairytale overmantels, fireplace and wash stand at The Hill. It was again used in the overmantel at Queens College Cambridge and later on the fireplace in the Green Room at Kelmscott Manor.

The swan is fired onto a 6"x6" tile making it a suitable size for replacing tiles in old Victorian and other fireplaces. The tiles are also thicker making them more suitable for the heat from a working fireplace
